I came to New Life just a few weeks into my freshman year at Michigan. I grew up in the church, regularly attending Sunday Services, youth group, and mission trips, but I did not have any plans to get involved in a church community during college. I had an idea of my need for Jesus, but I didn’t really know how important the Church was for my faith. By circumstances only explained by God’s Grace, I was drawn to ask my RA about churches on campus. After inquiring about New Life, he connected me with a small group leader, and I began to attend. Because of this, I encountered a community at New Life who welcomed me with open arms and showed me what it meant to truly follow Jesus. My involvement with New Life as a student allowed me to grow in my own understanding of who God is, what He says about us, and who He calls us to be as a result. As Campus Staff, I will be leading Small Groups and New Life Teams, coaching student leaders, and befriending others. My hope in this role is to empower students by showing them who they are in the eyes of the Lord and reminding them of the awesome power and authority He gives us to love and minster to others.
